Nickelodeon

I recently did some character design for Nickelodeon Preschool TV, and it was such a fun comission! The project is currently on hold, so these designs might never come to life, but I just had to show them to you. They're two different versions of the same character, guess which one's my favorite :D

Sketchbooks

In the last few months, I've been carrying these little sketchbooks in my bag. I'm a small purse type of girl (I just bought this one by Clare Vivier and I love it) so I need equally tiny sketchbooks to fit in my bag. These ones by Clairefontaine come in cheerful colors, the paper is good quality and they're lightweigh, perfect little things. And cheap enough that you don't mind if they get wrecked or stained (see second picture). Right now I'm being unloyal and using these ones made by Kunst and Papier, with better paper quality, and equally as tiny. One of my other things I always have in my bag is my Faber-Castell perfect pencil.

This post reminds me that I never show sketchbook pages around here, mostly finished artwork. But I might change that and make regular posts with sketches, since I'm constantly making doodles that never see the light of day. I hope you enjoy them!

Love triangle

So, here's my new hat design, Love triangle, knit in squishy DK Merino yarn. This is just a prototype and has som flaws, but I'm currently writing the pattern and will soon be testing it with other knitters. I'm very excited to be (finally!) writing my first knitting pattern.

A hint of spring

In the last couple of years I have neglected my Polaroid cameras. Even though I still have quite a lot of the original film stashed, I haven't found the inspiration or impulse to take my sx-70 out as much as I used to... But last saturday the day was beatiful and sunny at last, the first plum trees were in bloom and you could feel spring in the air. So I took this tiny branch home with me.

Ansó

I just finished knitting this Fair Isle pullover with traditional shetland yarns. I've named it Ansó, because the colors remind me of the autumn shades in one of my favorite places on earth. Spring is around the corner, but the weather here is cold and rainy, perfect for wearing this sweater!

Ronald McDonald Houses

This week I created these three illustrations for the Ronald McDonald House in Barcelona, as part of the Work for FREE campaign going on this month at Anna Goodson Illustration Agency. The Ronald McDonald House charity program is non-profit organization that provides a “home-away-from-home” for families who have their kids hospitalized in a different city, so so they can stay close by their child at no cost. They do an amazing job helping children with cancer and other diseases, and it was an absolute pleasure working on these illustrations and being able to help in my own, little way. Thank you, Gisela!

Eat your veggies

Another gouache and pattern experiment, this time with all kind of vegetables. The aubergine/eggplant and the radishes are my favorites.

Flora and cookies

Yesterday was a very productive day over here. I finished this illustration full of little flowers and I baked these cookies. I followed this great recipe by Luisa Weiss and not only they're very easy to whip up, they are delicious too! The house still smells like warm chocolate :D
