Orange is the new black
I’ve been drawing some of the Orange is the New Black ladies in anticipation of the release of Season 3. I’m so excited to binge watch it all! I still have a lot more characters to paint, but I have plenty of space in my sketchbook! :D

Toothy
A toothy lady I painted in my sketchbook while testing the White Nights Watercolors I bought as a souvenir in Helsinki. They're super pigmented, I love them!

Recent sketches
Here are some little drawings from my sketchbook I never posted here, all done with watercolors and experimenting with linework. Lately I've been sharing more of this "sketchy" stuff on my Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr and I've neglected this space a little... so, follow me over there if you want to stay updated!

Fig Newton
Just another little sketch of Fig Newton, the magical creature that belongs to my friend Charlyn from Hopscotch. Check out her amazing painted wooden dolls on her Etsy store :)

Been caught stealing
I just came back from a wonderful trip to Finland. I've absolutely fallen in love with Helsinki's architecture, nature, people and food, and now I daydream about living there... September has been a hectic month between work, attending a friend's wedding in Sicily and the Finland trip, and now I have six rolls of film to scan and share. I also Instagrammed the hell out of it all.
Meanwhile, here's a silly illustration of a cookie stealing kitty. Inspired by this.

Good Vibrations
Summer is almost here. I'm going on a short vacation today, and the Beach Boys are already playing, they always put me in such a great mood. See you soon!!

Miranda
I've almost finished my new book, only one spead left and I'll be heading to the Pyrenees for a much needed vacation. This book has been the most fun so far, but after two months working exclusively in the computer, I miss my gouache and brushes. I need to get my hands dirty again!
Meanwhile, this is a lady I had forgotten in my sketchbook, hope you like her!

Deer face
Hello!! I've been very busy lately, working on my new illustrated book, hence the lack of posts! I'm drawing non stop, but I can't show you anything... So, here's another woman I painted on my sketchbook, again from the Sartorialist. She had the longest neck and most expressive eyes, she reminded me of a deer :)

Gold pants
I sketched this couple with great coats from The Sartorialist (again!). This guy's pants were the perfect excuse to use the gold gouache.

Wave
Another drawing based on a photo from The Sartorialist. This woman had such a great face and hair, I couldn't resist painting her.
In other news, I just started working on a new illustrated book, yay! I see a couple of very busy months in my future :D

Jessa and Hannah
Because my obsession with drawing girls in coats continues. I was watching the show Girls the other day and I just had to paint Jessa and Hannah with their fabulous coats.

Girls with coats
Seems like I have a soft spot for girls with coats and hats from The Sartorialist :D
Have a great weekend everyone!

Nico and...
Another warmup doodle from my sketchbook, this time inspired by the wonderful looks by the japanese brand Nico and.... You can see them all in their magazine here. I could seriously wear every single thing on their store!
In other news, Happy Belated 2014 everyone!! I hope you started the new year the best way possible, and I wish you a fabulous 2014. I just came back from spendin a long vacation in my hometown with my family and friends and it was just wonderful.

Stop and smell the roses
I've been swamped with work the last few weeks, so it's been very quiet around here. Tomorrow I'm leaving on a short trip to Porto and will be back soon with lots of news.
Also, we're close to being 500 in my Facebook page, and I'm planning a sweet giveaway to celebrate! Stay tuned :D
