Manners book - The patterns

I my new book, every new chapter is identified with a repeat pattern, and working on them was so much fun! Here are some of my favorites.

Monday

We're hitting the 38ºC (100F) everyday, and all I do is paint girls in winter wear on my sketchbook, so weird... I guess I'll be painting summery scenes next February. Anyway, I hope you have a nice start of the week!

A smart girl's guide to manners

Recenty I got samples of my second illustrated book, "A smart girl's guide to manners", and I couldn't be happier. I spent most of last summer inside my studio working on this book, and it's incredibly rewarding to have it finally on print, in my hands. It's a reedition of one of American Girl Publishing's best sellers, 128 pages full of useful advice for girls 8+, from table manners, to boys, parties or phone etiquette. And of course, lots of illustrations! I will be showing them in the next few posts, but here's a little gossip-y piece from the book as an advance.

Discrepancies

I just came back from a relaxing week at the beach and found some very exciting things on my mailbox that I'll be sharing here soon. Meanwhile, here's a small gouache I made of my kitty Maggie while I was away. Pack your bags

I recently ilustrated this article for the July/August issue of American Girl magazine, "Pack your bags", which gives useful advice and tips for packing your suitcase. It was so much fun to work on this piece, and I also learnt a couple of things that will come in handy this friday when I leave to the beach for a few days!

Gelato Time

It's finally starting to feel like summer around here, after an unusually cold spring. It's time to wear sandals and eat ice cream again! I've painted this tattooed lady eating a strawberry cone, but my favorite gelato is one scoop chocolate, one scoop hazelnut, the best mix, hands down. What's your favorite flavor?
